Goodwill Facilities Tech PAID Internship Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Intern

Brief Description: Goodwill’s maintenance team provides all facilitates assistance to Goodwill stores, both Goodwill warehouses, and headquarters. The intern will shadow several maintenance employees as they perform a variety of tasks, which include, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, hardware, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance. The intern can expect a workweek with a lot of variety and hands on learning.

The intern will also go through “soft skill” training (which includes customer services, communication, workplace etiquette, etc.) and digital skills training (which includes Google Suite comprehensive skills training).

Skills that will be utilized (not required upon hire but will learn during internship):
·         Develop and grow customer service skills
·         Multi-tasking
·         Dealing with interruptions
·         Electrical/Plumbing/Carpentry/Hardware/HVAC/General Maintenance
·         Commination with people at all levels in the organization
·         Variety in position

Requirements:
·         18 to 24
·         A resident of Denver or attending a Denver school (high school/tech college/community college/university)
·         Ability to take direction
·         Ability to learn new things in a hands on environment
·         Self motivated
·         Ability to ask questions when needed
·         An interest in the general maintenance field

Application Process: 

For interns starting on August 1st:

o   Please submit your interest to Robyn Purvin (rpurvin@goodwilldenver.org). 
o   You will be in the internship for 160 hours over two months.
o   All interns will start on August 1st and be complete no later than September 28th.
o   Interviews will be the week of July 23rd to July 27th.
