Internship: Butterfly Pavilion

Position Overview: This part-time, unpaid intern position will assist the Volunteer Coordinator with a variety of project-based duties. This intern will gain valuable experience with volunteer management and recruitment, public event logistics, operating computer systems, and also gain valuable knowledge about the process and structure of a non-profit.
Length of commitment: Three months (June-August), 10-15 hours per week. Start date is flexible. Intern should be available to help on various event dates throughout the summer.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research and enhance our current community cultivation lists for volunteer recruitment
o Collaborate with local businesses, organizations, and corporations who provide monetary compensation for employee volunteering
· Establish relationships with service and volunteer groups at local high schools and universities
· Assist with maintaining and updating volunteer database (Volgistics) and email list-serve
· Promote volunteer opportunities through online postings on sites such as Metro Volunteers, Facebook, Twitter, Idealist, Volunteer Match, etc.

· Learn how to utilize the Volgistics database to track and communicate with volunteers

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
· Interest in the non-profit sector, especially volunteerism or hospitality management

Football Officials

Football Clinic & Training Meeting

The upcoming youth football season is near.  We welcome back all returning officials and request your assistance in recruiting more officials for the coming season.
The AYL will expand its league adding several new teams this year prompting our need for additional officials.  The annual football clinic will be held on August 3, 2013 from 11am to 3pm at New Hope Baptist Church, 3701 Colorado Boulevard.  Attendance is mandatory! 
Please note, AYL has approved revised game fees for the 2013 football season.  All officials who attend the clinic on August 3 will receive the new game fee for this season.  Any officials who do not attend the clinic will receive the prior year fees.
As we prepare for a new season, we must keep abreast of changes in high school and AYL rules.
Subsequent training meetings will be held on August 13 and August 20, at 6:30 pm at New Hope.
The season tentatively starts on August 31.  If you don’t plan on working the AYL 2013 season, please let me know as soon as possible.
We are also recruiting new officials!

JOIN THE MAKING COLORADO YOUTH AMBASSADOR TEAM-Statewide Internship for High School Seniors

Making Colorado is looking for the next generation of social media marketers that can capture the spirit and pride of their hometown Colorado county. Through this unique program, one high school junior from all 64 counties in Colorado will have the opportunity to impact the future of the state.
The Making Colorado Youth Ambassadors will contribute visual and written content from their hometowns and keep local residents updated on project milestones. In addition, several Youth Ambassadors will be selected to serve on the Making Colorado Brand Council, a group comprised of influential professionals at Colorado companies and organizations. Team members will also have the opportunity to take part in webinars throughout the summer to learn marketing and social media skills from some of Colorado’s top business people.
“This is an enrichment opportunity for young people across the state to participate in a first-of-its-kind branding initiative, network with community members, learn from industry-leading professionals and demonstrate what Colorado means to them,” said Colorado’s Chief Marketing Officer Aaron Kennedy.
Youth Ambassador responsibilities and expectations will include:
  • Publishing information which answers “What’s Your County’s Vibe?” on their personal social media channels.

  • Each Youth Ambassador will be highlighted on the MakingColorado.gov Facebook page.
  • All Youth Ambassadors will be given a congratulatory prize at selection and at completion
  • Youth Ambassadors will have the opportunity to meet the Governor when he visits each youths’ county.

Program Training
  • During first week of selection, all Youth Ambassadors shall participate in a training webinar.
  • Throughout the summer, Youth Ambassadors will have the opportunity to attend informative online webinars with Colorado Chief Marketing Officer and Noodles & Company Founder Aaron Kennedy, Making Colorado Creative Director, Dave Schiff, EGG Strategy, Sterling-Rice Group and Linhart PR.

ABOUT Making Colorado
Making Colorado is the most inclusive, collaborative and ambitious branding effort ever undertaken by a state. Commissioned by Colorado Gov.
