SummerTEK - Computer Netowrking Training - Apply by April 15th!

We are pleased to invite you to apply for SummerTEK 2016. SummerTEK is for African-American and other underrepresented minority students who are currently in high school or incoming freshmen. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (C+) or higher, and experience using Windows- based computers. Students who participate in SummerTEK must be committed to learning about information technology. Student selection will be based on accomplishments inside and outside the classroom.

In this exciting 6-week summer program, you will learn about computer networking, one of the fastest growing career fields over the next decade. The knowledge and skills you acquire in this course can help you start on a path toward one of the following innovative and rewarding careers:

Network Administrator 
Network Engineer 
Network Technician 
Network Installer 

SummerTEK students will be enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy, and will use their online curriculum. They will also complete lab assignments using Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation software. SummerTEK students will attend field trips to state-of-the-art computer networking facilities in the Denver metro area.

Parents/ Students Orientation: Saturday, June 4th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. SummerTEK 2016 Class dates: Tuesday through Friday each week, June 7th- July 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (lunch will be provided).

Awards Luncheon: Saturday, July 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

 Your application must be postmarked NO LATER THAN April 15, 2016.
There is no application fee. Students accepted into SummerTEK will be notified by May 15th, 2016. There is a $50 registration fee for students who are accepted into the program. There are no other fees or tuition costs for this 6-week program. Lunch is provided daily free of charge.
