Interns - Political Organizing Program

Phil Weiser for Attorney General of Colorado
Political Organizing Program (POP)

Are you a motivated, determined and politically-interested leader looking to help your community? Do you want to get hands-on experience in building an effective political organization? Are you looking for a way to help your community and take a stand against the Trump Administration? If so, consider joining Phil Weiser’s campaign for Colorado Attorney General through our Phil For Colorado Political Organizing Program (POP).

POP Interns are integral members of Phil’s campaign as he works to become the first Democratic
Attorney General in a generation. Phil is a progressive leader who advised President Barack Obama,
was a law clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, led teams of lawyers at the Department of Justice to
protect consumers, and served as Dean of CU Law School. You can learn more about Phil’s
candidacy at https://www.philforcolorado.com/.

Why Apply?

Lead From the Start
We’re looking for leaders — not followers. The POP program is geared toward developing students
as political leaders and organizers from Day One. That means weekly briefings with our senior staff,
regular mentorship check-ins, challenging assignments, and, for successful candidates, the chance
to supervise teams of organizers.

Build Skills that Matter
POP participants are exposed to every aspect of effective organizing, from policy research to
door-to-door outreach to social media strategy. The communication, interpersonal and leadership
skills you build will help you in whatever comes next, whether it’s supporting a college application or
finding a career you love.

Help a Cause That Matters
While POP is open to students of any political persuasion, it maybe especially enriching for students
who want to support a progressive leader and take a meaningful stand against the Trump
Administration’s policies. As a POP participant, you’ll be helping Colorado stand up to Washington by electing an AG who will protect our environment, keep students safe from gun violence, and defend the equal rights of every Coloradan. As a member of POP, you’ll have the chance to be part of this and to help move Colorado forward.
