Denver Police Academy Cadet Program Orientation, Wednesday, October 16 from 7-8:30 p.m.

The Public Safety Cadet Program provides a unique combination of education and on- the-job training for future public safety employees. The Cadet Program provides the following:

*Opportunity to learn about the full spectrum of public safety services
*Advanced training opportunities provided by experienced instructors in law
enforcement, fire service, court services, and inmate care and custody
*Leadership development
*Academic achievement opportunities while pursuing bachelor degrees at
Metropolitan State University of Denver or the University of Colorado at Denver *Valuable supervisory and management experience

BENEFITS
*Paid college tuition and books at MSU or UCD
*$13.00/hour - 25 to 35 hours per week part-time work for the Denver safety agencies
*Training and ride-a-longs with Police, Fire, Sheriff Depts, and Paramedics

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
*H.S. Diploma or GED (by the following year of application)—Students who will graduate May 2020
*Valid driver's license at application
*No felony convictions
*No soft drug use in last 1 year
*No hard drug use in last 3 years
*No more than 60 college credits at closing of application
*Must meet qualifications for acceptance at MSU or UCD
