Library Assistant I - 2 locations-Ross-Barnum Branch and Park Hill Branch

This position does not have a formal education or experience requirement.

The Library Assistant I position requires a test measuring ability to work quickly and accurately with numbers and letters. The test must be taken AFTER submitting an application and PRIOR to the application deadline in order to be considered. A passing score is good for one year. The test is only available during the application period and can be taken Monday through Friday, 10am - 12pm in the Human Resources Office, Floor Seven, Denver Central Library, 10 W. 14th Ave. Parkway. 

What You'd Do
Work to create positive experiences for library customers by shelving, transporting and retrieving library materials according to the library's classification system so that library customers are provided with materials in a timely manner. Use technology and other mechanical tools related to the processing of library materials. Spot check books and materials for needed repair and identify worn or damaged items for withdrawal/replacement decisions. Support the library's goal of being a learning organization by participating in approved learning opportunities. Follow ergonomic best practices to ensure a healthy workplace. Answer customer questions about using library resources and locating library materials. Support library functions by assisting with collection maintenance, clerical duties, programming, and other duties as assigned.
