What to Expect
With the Rocky Mountain Conservancy – High School Leadership Corps (HSLC), you will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get hands-on experience in environmental stewardship, develop job skills, learn about a variety of career opportunities and explore Rocky Mountain National Park with the Rocky Mountain Conservancy.

Leadership Corps Members will:
 BUILD RESUMES, JOB SKILLS, AND PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES
 DEVELOP LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
 INCREASE COMPETENCE IN OUTDOOR CAMPING AND BACKCOUNTRY SKILLS
 LEARN ABOUT THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
 NETWORK WITH PROFESSIONALS IN THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
 PROTECT AND PRESERVE COLORADO’S PUBLIC LANDS
 BUILD LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS

What We Value
The HSLC is committed to sharing the following values with youth:
 Environmental Stewardship — Participants will develop an understanding of natural systems through educational programming and understand the role of public land agencies in
protecting those lands through service work.
 Personal Leadership – Participants will gain valuable leadership skills related to communication, teamwork, and group management to foster individual growth.
 Outdoor Skills – Participants will become competent in the skills required to comfortably travel and camp in the outdoors through experiential learning opportunities while camping.

Program Details
The RMC - High School Leadership Corps is an immersive 12-day experience. Participants will camp in Rocky Mountain National Park. Over the course of the twelve days the HSLC will complete several volunteer projects, participate in trainings, and camp.

The Conservancy will be selecting 10 high school youth (ages 14-17) to participate in each session.

Participants will receive a $400 stipend upon completion of the program. Additionally, the Rocky Mountain Conservancy provides housing (camping), work clothing, boots and gear for the experience.
