Pro Shop Assistant - Fossil Trace Golf Club - Golden

Fossil Trace Golf Club is one of Denver's premier public golf courses, nestled adjacent to the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range and only 15 minutes from downtown Denver. In its short history, the golf course has enjoyed tremendous success and is considered one of the finest golf courses and golf experiences available in Denver and all of Colorado. 

We are searching for qualified candidates for our Pro Shop Assistant position. This position is under the direct supervision of the 1st Asst. Golf Pro and is responsible for the daily operation of the Golf Shop and promotion of sales of merchandise. May be required to work early morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts. 

Hiring Rate: $10.00 per hour
Salary Range: $8.25-$12.50 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
•Responsible for the collection of green fees, assigning of tee times, rental of equipment and the sale of Golf Shop merchandise. 
•Responsible for maintaining the Golf Shop in a clean, orderly and fully stocked condition.
•Assists as needed in the merchandising and display of Golf Shop merchandise. 
•May assist in the annual Junior Golf Camp. 
•Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor. 

Education and/or Experience: 
Minimum 16 years of age. Prior retail and/or golf sales experience preferred. Must be computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office. Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a team environment. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret City of Golden policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, citizens and others verbally and in writing. Ability to respond to customer concerns promptly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public, and other agencies. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to apply and calculate percentages and fractions to areas of business. Ability to complete time sheets.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
General office equipment, computer, cash drawer, credit card machine, phones, adding machine, photocopier, golf merchandise, and fax machine. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. Must be able to lift 100 pounds assisted and 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

The work environment is primarily in an indoor setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
