MISSION: Serve as the voice of Commerce City youth by generating and acting on ideas to inspire a better community today and tomorrow.

ABOUT: The youth commission is an advisory body to City Council on issues affecting youth in Commerce City. Commissioners serve for two years (one term). During their term, commissioners will work on a youth master plan, attend conferences and trainings, implement projects that benefit the community, and create lifelong bonds with youth across the city. The youth commission meets twice monthly at 6 p.m. during the school year and members are responsible for their own transportation.

WHO: Both youth and adults are encouraged to apply! Youth members must be between the ages of 13-19 and attend a secondary school that services city residents, live within the city and are home schooled, or have dropped out after attending a school servicing city residents.

APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED ANYTIME, NEW MEMBERS INITIATED A COUPLE TIMES A YEAR. Applications can be dropped off at the Commerce City Civic Center, or with any Commerce City Youth Commissioner.

SOBRE: La comisión juvenil es un comité consultivo al Concejo de la Ciudad en cuestiones que afectan a la juventud en la ciudad de Commerce City. Los comisarios sirven durante dos años (un término). Durante su mandato, los comisarios trabajaran en un plan maestro de la juventud, asistiran a conferencias y entrenamientos, implementaran proyectos que beneficien a la comunidad y crearan lazos permanentes con los jóvenes en toda la ciudad. La comisión juvenil se reúne dos veces por mes a las 6 de la tarde durante el año escolar y los miembros son responsables de su propio transporte.

QUIEN: Jóvenes y adultos se les anima a aplicar. Los miembros de la juventud deben ser entre las edades de 13-19 y asistir a una escuela secundaria que sirve a los residentes de la ciudad, viven dentro de la ciudad y son educados en el hogar, o han abandonado la escuela que sirve a los residentes de la ciudad.

LAS SOLICITUDES SON ACEPTADAS EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO, NUEVOS MIEMBROS INICIARAN UN PAR DE VECES AL AÑO. Las aplicaciones pueden ser entregadas en una escuela secundaria o preparatoria en Commerce City, o con cualquier Comisionado Juvenil de Commerce City.
