Mile High Youth Corps - Americorps Leadership & Conservation Program - Denver

Mile High Youth Corps is currently hiring Corpsmembers for the Americorps Leadership & Conservation Program! 
Corpsmembers have the opportunity to work on land, energy and water conservation projects throughout the Denver Metro area. Gain job and technical skills while serving your community! Corpsmembers will receive a living stipend and an AmeriCorps education award to be used towards college.
Youth must have a GED or high school diploma and be 18-24 years old.

Stipend:
 This is a temporary position, from January 26th, 2015 to December 11th, 2015.
 Schedule: 40 hour weeks, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 or 5 p.m. Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 12 or 4:00p.m. (varies depending on project/season.). Summer hours will be Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
 Overnight trips may be required for trainings, conferences, and projects.
 The first payday will be on February 13th, 2015.
 The biweekly stipend amount will be roughly $640.00 for non-drivers and $660.00 for drivers before taxes.

Benefits:
 Eligible for a $5,645.00 AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of 1700 hours of service.
 Uniform provided by Mile High Youth Corps.
 Student loan forbearance (on qualifying federal government student loan) possible though the National Service Trust,if applicant takes appropriate steps through loan agency.
 Health insurance provided through Summit America Insurance.
 Child care allowance (for qualified members) possible through AmeriCorps CARE.
 First Aid/CPR certification.
 Personal and Professional trainings related to: First Aid/CPR, S-212 chainsaw certification, Pesticide Application,Leave No Trace TM outdoor ethics, energy and water conservation, land conservation, presentation and public speaking.
