Goodwill Industries of Denver currently has an opening for a
Youth Career Development capacity-building full time AmeriCorps VISTA Youth
Projects Coordinator. This is an incredible national service
opportunity for someone interested in deepening their base and breadth of experience
in the non-profit/education arena.
The purpose of this VISTA position is to assist in expanding
our Youth Career Development (YCD) Program to increase our capacity to serve
urban youth with developing their post-secondary and career goals. During the
12-month term of service the Youth Projects Coordinator will support
sustainable capacity-building projects for the YCD program.
Goodwill Denver’s YCD program’s mission is to prepare youth
from low-income communities for success in the 21st century
workplace. This program addresses the alarmingly low graduation rates of
at-risk youth, while equipping them with the skills needed to graduate and
prepare for a life of success. YCD accomplishes this
through classroom instruction, connecting students to work experiences,
providing students with mentors, and a variety of other support programs.
Goodwill Denver’s Youth Programs provide economic stability support to 17,000
youth, 88% of whom are from low-income families.
