PAID Marketing & Communications Intern
The mission of Voices for Children is to provide trained volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in Boulder County. Our goal is to get the children out of the system and into a safe and permanent home as quickly as possible.
Job Description: VFC CASA is looking for a dynamic, self-starter to assist with our marketing and communication plans. This is an excellent opportunity to work on different aspects of marketing and assist the board in executing key marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Reach out to the local businesses, community organizations, donors and general public about VFC CASA and its mission
- Assist the board and staff in planning community outreach events
- Design flyers, evites, graphics and other marketing materials for major events
- Collaborate with the board and the staff on new ideas, directions and venues for marketing and communications
- Plan and facilitate marketing committee meetings including distributing agenda and meeting minutes.
- Track and report the status of the various initiatives and business partnerships
- Coordinate with Ambassador committees on key initiatives and ensure effective communications between marketing and ambassador committees
- Assist staff in actively maintaining VFC CASA’s presence in social media
Qualifications
- Self motivated, detail-oriented and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet the deadlines
- Strong communication skills – written and oral
- Ability to navigate roadblocks and build effective coalitions to get tasks accomplished
- Ability to adapt to new marketing plans and provide constructive feedback
- Working knowledge of computer software like MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc
- Ability to use donor management software with minimal training is a plus
- Previous internship or related experience in marketing and communications role is a plus.
- Completed or working towards a college degree, preferrably in a related field is a plus.
- Passionate about the VFC CASA mission and the difference that we make for our communities.
Hours: 8-10 hours per week. Preferably, a minimum of 2-3 days at the VFC CASA office.
Compensation: $10/hour. |
