Our Center:
The Schlessman Family YMCA Child Care Center is a large child care center located on Colorado Blvd and Yale Ave in Denver. We currently care for over 130 children daily. We have 8 classrooms and care for children Birth-Five years of age. We use the High/Scope COR curriculum, which is a child initiated, play-based curriculum. The Schlessman YMCA is part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver, one of the largest child care providers in the state of Colorado.
We are seeking QUALIFIED, FUN, ENERGETIC, EDUCATED and CREATIVE individuals to join our team of Early Childhood Professionals. We are accepting applications for part time Assistant Early Childhood Teachers.
About our Toddlers:
As you step into our Toddler room, you see three toddlers dressed up in an old lacy dress, fire hats and bathing suits giggling as they look at themselves in the mirror. Another toddler has mastered the steps up the ladder and will soon scoot down the slide. Others are snuggling in the cozy corner signing nursery rhymes while some children look at picture books. The art table has beautiful finger paintings that the children have left to dry. Our toddler classroom is full of many opportunities for the children to grow socially and developmentally.
Qualifications for ASSISTANT teachers are follows:
Must have experience working with children, I.E. Baby sitting, church nursery etc.
Working toward Lead Teacher Certification is a plus.

Hours:
Our center is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Hours will vary per position, and are based upon the needs of the center. Part time staff work up to 34 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
