Infrastructure Technician Training - Red Rocks Community College

The Ready to Work Academy at Red Rocks Community College, Rocky Mountain Education Center

The Ready to Work Academy will help students access the growing field of Infrastructure Technicians.

Infrastructure = services and facilities necessary for an economy to function

Technicians =specialist trained in the skills and techniques related to the field they serve and solve technical problems

The program takes place in a comprehensive classroom using a practical learning environment and lab with real equipment completed in a ten day intensive course.

Major Course Goals:

  1. Earn an OSHA 10 General Industry card
  2. Understand and properly use the tools needed in the infrastructure technician industry
  3. Earn an EPA Section 608 card
  4. Gain the ability to work safely and profitably on equipment during their paid internship
  5. Earn the knowledge of hard and soft skills necessary to secure an entry level position in the Infrastructure Technician field
  6. Paid Internship with local companies providing:
·         HVAC
·         Electrical
·         Building Automation
·         Elevators
·         Facilities Engineering
·         Generators
·         Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning Plumbing
·         Refrigeration
·         Internet/communications/data centers
·         Manufacturing
·         Mining
·         Data / Communication Centers

    1. We develop a Personal Education Plan at the end of the internship to enhance core learning and advance college degree opportunities with scholarships and tuition assistance.
