Concierge (Downtown Denver)


Position Summary:
Maintains highest levels of guest service and satisfaction by demonstrating extensive knowledge of the hotel and surrounding Denver area. Responsible for maintaining current information on dining options and events, museums, conference, special events, etc. Arranges and executes all guest requests, including (but not limited to) reservations, tickets, special amenities, babysitting service, spa services, etc. Summarizes and disseminates information on events for hotel staff.


 Essential Functions of the  Job:
• Responsible for the safety and proper handling of equipment.
• Attends and contributes to meetings as required.
• Properly handles all guests' requests to completion.
• Familiarizes him/herself with and keeps updated on current events and openings and closings of local businesses.
• Develops contacts throughout the city to benefit the hotel and hotel guests.
• Has knowledge of all packages and history of hotel.
• Calls guests two weeks in advance of arrival to offer assistance.
• Calls in-house guests twenty minutes after arrival to offer assistance.
• Assists with VIP recognition program as necessary.
• Schedules staffing on concierge desk according four diamond standards.
• Updates events and local attractions on concierge page of Hotel Teatro website.
• Is familiar with entire staff and keeps staff informed of pending guest issues.
• Maintains accurate and complete daily log of bookings.
• Maintains accurate and complete call-ahead log.
• Communicates effectively and immediately any situations which may require management assistance. This may include employee-related issues as well as guests.
• Communicates with staff regularly and informs every department of necessary information.
• Recommends purchases to management.
• Maintains a high level of guest satisfaction. Takes immediate corrective action when guests' needs are not met.
• Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Assists in keeping the concierge area clean and in order.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of safety and fire procedures.
• Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan.
• Assists in other departments as needed, this may include Bell, Desk, PBX, and In-Room Dining.
• Is active in the Concierge Association of Colorado.
• Participates in special guest amenity programs (dog-walking, guided runs, etc.)

Additional Job Duties:
• Completes tasks and projects delegated by management; assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
• Completes shift checklists and informs management if there is anything that time does not permit.
• Reports to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules.
• Reports to shift on time.
• Enforces and complies with all policies and procedures for Hotel Teatro.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to carry heavy loads such as trays (40 pounds).
• Standing, bending, and stooping may be required.

Education, Experience, Skills:
• High School diploma; some college education helpful
• 3 years related experience and residence in city preferred.
• Excellent command of English language.
• Ability to work with people.
• Neat appearance.
