Room Service Server (In Room Dining) (Downtown Denver)

 


Position Summary:
Takes in-room dining orders, delivers in-room dining orders to guest rooms, and performs all assigned side work, maintaining five-star/five-diamond levels of service and guest satisfaction with every interaction.

Essential Functions of the Job:
• Takes in-room dining orders according to standards and scripted protocol.
• Delivers food and beverage orders to guestrooms.
• Clears trays from hallways and hallway closets.
• Performs all side work duties as assigned, including use of a checklist.
• Attends and contributes input to staff meetings.
• Properly handles all tickets, including voided checks.
• Exercises care with equipment; minimizing waste, breakage and misuse.
• Communicates effectively and immediately any situations which may require management assistance. This may include employee-related issues as well as guest issues.
• Assists in maintenance and cleanliness of service areas.
• Recommends purchases to Major Domo.
• Maintains a high level of guest satisfaction. Takes immediate corrective action when guests' needs are not met.
• Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Ensures room service area is clean and maintained. Keeps back of the house clean and organized.
• Serves guests food and beverage according to standards of performance.
• Sets trays and tables and checks setup according to standards.
• Assists in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan.
• Completes paperwork accurately.

Additional Job Duties:
• Completes tasks and projects delegated by management; assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.
• Reports to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules.
• Reports to shift on time.
• Enforces and complies with all policies and procedures for Hotel Teatro.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to carry heavy loads such as trays (40 pounds).
• Ability to pull heavy loads (300 pounds).
• Standing, bending, and stooping required.


Education, Experience, Skills:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food, wine and cooking methods.
• Good command of English language.
• Ability to work with people.
• Neat, professional appearance.
