Account Manager Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Account Manager is responsible for managing existing accounts and securing new business opportunities generated by the company, through walk-ins, advertising, customer referrals and other lead sources.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (The following essential job functions and examples of duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive. Duties may be modified, added or deleted at the discretion of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing)

• Achieves annual sales quota goals for obtaining Gross Profit
• Maintains a minimum annual average of 35% Gross Profit
• Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to remain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling.
• Networks with personal referral sources to obtain referrals and uncover opportunities.
• Follows up on leads generated by company, walk-ins, ads or other lead sources.
• Strategizes with sales manager and project team to qualify and secure business.
• Gathers programming needs from client, establishes budgetary guidelines and project timeline.
• Researches and specifies and price options.
• Solicits design assistance when required for drawings and specifications.
• Participates in product evaluations, presentations and furniture selections.
• Generates documentation and assists with install quotes, proposals and bid responses.
• Presents drawings, proposals and sign-offs for approval.
• Obtains deposits and signoffs and completed contracts from clients.
• Verifies acknowledgements and specification
• Coordinates and schedules installations with clients and project management.
• Verifies field dimensions, critical dimensions and electrical/data locations with Project Manager.
• Oversees progress of installation, walk-thru and generation and completion of the punchlist to the satisfaction of the client.
• Maintains communication with client upon project completion to thank them for their business.
• Follows established processes, procedures, policies, expense guidelines and budgets.
• When necessary, assists Accounting in the collection process.
• Completes forecast reports in a timely manner.
• Communicates project and lead registration to sales manager and vendors.
• Attends all mandatory company and vendor meetings, functions and training sessions.

Skills/ Requirements
• Professional customer service skills required.
• Requires solid interpersonal oral and written skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals of varying social, economic, cultural, professional and educational backgrounds.
• Must be a self starter and have the ability to effectively work in an often self directed and independent capacity.
• Previous sales and/or industry experience strongly preferred.
