Tuk Tuk Driver/Attendant - Einstein's at DU

Einstein's at The University of Denver is looking for a Tuk Tuk Driver/Attendant!!!

The Tuk Tuk is a mobile food cart that serves Einstein’s products. The Einstein’s Tuk Tuk Attendant will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Tuk Tuk. These operations will include:
- Stocking the Tuk Tuk with necessary products for service.
- Driving the Tuk Tuk to the designated service areas.
- Serving coffee, bagels, and sandwiches to customers.
- Cleaning and returning the Tuk Tuk to the designated parking area

You are invited to join us and Mayor Michael B. Hancock at our 3rd Annual Boys Are Talking Forum. What is the Boys Are Talking Forum? This forum is designed to allow young men of color, serving on a panel from grades 6-12, to highlight the structures in their schools and in their community that support their success, as well as those that hinder their success. What’s the Motivation Behind The Forum? Each year we see thousands of young men of color fail out of school for various reasons. We read report after report that highlights the discrepancies between the performance, truancy rates, suspension and expulsion rates, and special education placement between boys of color and the rest of the student body. Too often we make assumptions about what our young men need when designing support initiatives or schools without consulting the young men themselves. This forum gives you a front row seat to what the boys think!

Journey to JD - June 24-30 - Apply by March 31st

J2JD is a one-week residential program, June 24-30, 2018, at the University of Denver, for 20 diverse rising high school juniors in Colorado.  Students will gain a basic understanding of the legal system and will be empowered to explore the possibilities of a career in the law.

The camp will feature interactive and engaging learning opportunities:

·  Classroom discussion led by law school faculty, attorneys and law students, and

·  Field trips highlighting different careers and opportunities in the legal profession.

The application process is relatively easy.  Online, students may submit the application and other requested materials, and have a nonfamily member complete a recommendation form.  Alternatively, PDF copies are available to print and mail.  The deadline is March 31st. 

Except for a $50 seat deposit (which may be waived), there is no cost for students to attend.  Housing, meals, field trips, local transportation and learning materials will be covered by the camp.

2018 Theme: I Am B.O.L.D. Being Outstanding, LEADing Differently Objective: To address the values of mentorship, identity development, leadership and academic achievement in the lives of our young Black women. Purpose: The purpose of BW-LEAD is to provide high school Black women students with an opportunity to participate in a program that promotes leadership, academic achievement, and community involvement while developing their Black woman identity. Black women who are committed to empowering other Black women to be change agents in their schools, communities and families will lead engaging and interactive workshops. During the BW-LEAD conference, the young women will learn how sharing their stories and their lived experiences provide insight into their identity as a Black woman, and what it takes to become a leader in their personal life, school, and community, while inspiring them to focus on high academic achievement. Also, during the conference there will be occasions to share their thoughts and engage in discussions that relate to their experiences as a Black woman while learning from their peers, college students and community leaders. In addition, BW-LEAD will support students in discovering how they can prepare for educational success in high school, while sharing the value of how they can engage in college preparation activities that create pathways to higher education.
