Summer internship - Faceted Media - Lakewood


Paid Internship with Faceted Media (flexible hours).

The internship sponsor is engaging and eager to present to students. Students do not complete many hours each week, so it’s a great option for a youth who wants professional experience, but has a lot of other competing demands.

Facted Media Foot Team - The Foot Team gets together and does BRILLIANT pieces like chalk art advertising, strategic business card and flier drop-off (i.e inside targeted publications at stores, community boards, etc., event marketing, flash dances, murals, photography, video and social media stories... like some really awesome stuff which is more community-oriented). $25 - $50 for a 6 hour day (June through August),

Facted Media Internship - For super busy, tech-savvy, creative kids who are talented with computers or are able to learn quickly with technology. Students gain experience in website building, graphic design, video/photography editing, marketing copywriting, social media practices, knowledge about search enging optimization, events marketing, and blogging best practices! Pay is $15 per hour or per project. 6 month internship beginning in September Here is the info and the application.

Denver Open Media takes a brand-new approach to television. Just as organizations such as You Tube and Wikipedia have changed the way that individuals create and access media on the web, Denver Open Media has created a participatory model for community TV.

However, since we are a small nonprofit organization we rely heavily on our interns to help make us work! Although these internships are unpaid, qualified individuals will receive real-world experience and have the opportunity to participate in the exciting world of both video and interactive community TV. (And our interns receive free access to our equipment, resources and production classes.

If you are interested in video production, community media, television production, open-source technology, animation, and/or small non-profits that focus on empowering communities through media, we want you! We have internships available in many different areas, including: studio production, production/post-production, media education, website design/maintenance, development and fundraising, accounting, graphic design and public relations. 

Individuals fluent in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply!

Open Media Generation is a free, weekly after-school program for Denver Metro youth ages 11-18 and young adults ages 19-21 are welcome to join as peer leaders.

Networking and Professional Development Event with the Emma Bowen Foundation

High School and College students, are you interested in learning more about careers in media and technology in an engaging and fun environment? Would you like to meet and interact with media and technology executives?  

The Emma Bowen Foundation is coming to Denver! As part of our mission to diversify the media and tech industries, we’ll be hosting a networking and professional development event for high school and college students at the Cable Center on Friday, September 30th from 3 - 9 PM.

This evening event will bring together talented young people of color in high school and college, young media and tech professionals, and established leaders in the field to talk about careers in tech and media, race and identity in the workplace, and more. You'll also have an opportunity to network with some of the top current and up-and-coming talent in the Denver area.

Topics will include:

  • Advice on How to Be A Leader Throughout Your Career

Video Production Opportunities with Central Colorado AHEC


Summer Opportunities with Central Colorado Area Health Education Center
  • Possible video production project - interviews and footage with students participating in summer health care programs. This production will be used to promote students interest in choosing a career in the health field throughout the state of Colorado. 
  • Denver Metro Science and Engineering Fair - video production project. This production will be used to promote interest from middle school and high school students throughout the Denver Metro area, to participate in the science and engineering fair.

Colorado Media School - Summer Bootcamp

Colorado Media School – Summer Bootcamp

All High School students are welcome! Come join Colorado Media School for an awesome 3 week summer course where you will learn all about the media industry! Learn how to be a broadcasting professional as well as learn the basics of Audio and Video editing. Registration fee will go towards tuition upon enrollment. 

The Bootcamp runs from June 7-24 and is every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-6:30. Early Registration ends on May 31st.
