2019 TIMELINE
Application Deadline: DEADLINE EXTENDED March 22, 2019
Applicant Notification: No later than April 2019
Internship Dates: June 3 - August 9, 2019
National Conference in Tampa, FL: July 12-16, 2019
- Be a US citizen or eligible to work in the US
- Belong to an underrepresented or minority group
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution of higher education
- Be enrolling as a college junior, senior, or first year graduate student in the coming Fall academic term at an accredited institution of higher education
- Have, and show proof of, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale)
- Be able to successfully pass a background and/or drug check
- Reside or attend school in the internship area;
- Able to accommodate a possible summer relocation opportunity
- Be available and able to complete the 10-week internship program
- Be available to travel to, and participate in, COMTO's National Meeting & Training Conference in a major US city in July
- Applications must be submitted online by the application closing date. Emailed applications will not be accepted.
- All fields and attachments are required. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Essays that do not list the applicant's name in the header or footer will not be accepted.
- Letters of recommendations must have been written within the last 6 months, and must be dated and signed.
- Interns must reside in, or attend school in, the internship area.
- Former CITY Interns may apply if they meet eligibility requirements, but will not receive preferential consideration.
- Applicants may apply to no more than 2 internship locations.

- Professional development seminars and workshops
- Training and mentoring by an exclusive network of high-level transportation industry professionals
- 40 hours per week work schedules
- $15.00 per hour (or more, as determined by Internship Host) bi-weekly stipend
- Participation at COMTO's National Meeting & Training Conference
INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS
- Interns will be placed at public agencies or private businesses located in/near a city of a COMTO Chapter office.
- Applicants will be notified of the placement agency or company if selected for an interview.
