In conjunction with Cities United, Operation HOPE Denver invites you to attend our Denver Community Round-Table Discussion: Uplifting the Invisible Class. The community roundtable will take place on Monday, November 13th 2017 at 4:45pm - 7:00pm at the Auraria campus Tivoli Student Union Rm 444 900 Auraria Pkwy Denver, CO 80204. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Launched in
2011, Cities United is a national movement focused on eliminating the violence
in American cities related to African American men and boys. The 92 mayors (and
counting) participating in Cities United intend to reduce homicides in their
cities by 50%, by the year 2025. Moreover, they are committed to restoring hope
to their communities and building pathways to justice, employment, education,
and increased opportunities for residents.
The
objective of our first Denver roundtable discussion is to explore how
collaboration and growth of a HOPE empowerment Roundtable network supports the
adoption and successful implementation of preventative interventions to help
reduce violence for men of color. We aim to make space for discussion by
recognizing and building upon the light and potential of our young men through
a platform to share experiences, wants, and needs. In addition, we want to
connect young men to resources in the community, including: safe space, mental
health + wellness, after-school activities, job resources, musical hobbies,
entrepreneurship/ financial guidance, and continuing education.
We would be honored to have your
presence at this community Round Table Discussion. Please RSVP by Friday
November 10th, via call or email to Katie Broz at Katie.Broz@operationhope.org (303) 755-1377 for
any additional information. We look forward to continuing the conversation and
momentum of these efforts with you all. For more information of the mission of
