The Kansas City Fed’s Student
Board of Directors (SBOD) program is now accepting applications from junior
and senior high school students in Denver and Sheridan School Districts!
What is the SBOD?
The SBOD
program is a program during the 2015-2016 school year that will prepare
students to become knowledgeable citizens by increasing their
understanding of economic, financial and occupational topics through
collaboration with peers and business leaders.
The goal of the program is to:
· Foster a
broad understanding of the role of the Federal Reserve and its importance in
daily life
· Develop
financial responsibility and money management skills
· Promote
networking and connections among peers that build teamwork, respect and trust
· Provide
exposure to a wider variety of career opportunities and professional
interactions
· Enhance
leadership and life skills
· Create
professional ambassadors between the Federal Reserve and school districts
What is the application process?

The SBOD program is open to junior or senior high school students from
any Denver or Sheridan Public High School.
·
Students are selected based on academic achievement, involvement in
extracurricular activities, student essay and teacher/administrator
recommendation.
·
Applications packets are due Friday,
October 2.
