The
Denver Mayor’s Youth Commission is now taking applications for new youth
commissioners for the upcoming 2016-2017 commission year. This is a
wonderful opportunity for youth to develop their leadership skills and advocate
for issues important to the youth of Denver. The commission is made up of
20 youth, and 8 adults that are either employed by the City and County of
Denver or a youth serving organization. Below are the requirements of all
youth commissioners:

Live in Denver or attend a Denver Public School

Be an incoming 9th-12th grader
-
Attend monthly commission meetings the 1st and 3rd
Wednesday evening of each month during the school year
Any
interested youth should complete the attached application and return it via the
instructions given. All components of the application must be completed
in their entirety in order for a youth to receive an interview.
Interviews will begin in February. Applications can also be found online
