Girls Leadership Council July 24-July 30 - Applications due Feb. 1st!

The clock is ticking! The Girls’ Leadership Council (GLC) application is due on Monday, February 1, 2016 by 5 pm MT.  You can find the application and much more information here.

What is GLC?
GLC is a one-week interactive summer program led by The Women’s Foundation of Colorado in partnership with Girls Inc. of Metro Denver that teaches leadership, philanthropy and grantmaking to high school girls entering their junior years.

Where is GLC? GLC is hosted by The Women’s Foundation of Colorado in partnership with Girls Inc. on the University of Denver campus.

When is GLC? GLC is July 24 – July 30, 2016

Why GLC? GLC is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn and live with girls from around the state who share your passion for making a difference in their communities!

Who should apply for GLC? We don’t necessarily have a formula, but there are few things that stand out to the selection committee and staff who review the applications:
·         Potential and desire to become a community leader
·         Passion for community service/volunteerism
·         A strong interest in women’s issues
·         An understanding or interest in philanthropy
·         An interest in civic engagement and social change

Important Details:
·         Eligibility: Any high school sophomore girl in Colorado who will be a junior in the Fall of 2016. The Women’s Foundation of Colorado encourages applications from girls with diverse backgrounds and from across Colorado.
·         Program Dates: July 24 – July 30, 2016
·         Program Location: University of Denver Campus
·         Application Deadline: February 1, 2016
·         Finalist Interview Date: April 16, 2016
·         Program Costs: Thanks to the generosity of our donors, there are no application or participation fees associated with our program. We can also offer reimbursement for travel expenses.
