Program: Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Corps
Position: Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Reports to: Regional AHEC Center – Central Colorado AHEC
YMHFA Corps Program Mission: Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help a youth in crisis or experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.

Purpose of Position: AmeriCorps Members will serve as Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructors, certified to teach the 9-hour Youth MHFA-USA course to members of the public.
Responsibilities include:
· Participate in five day Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor Course (location TBD)
· Disseminate YMHFA in communities through organizations such as schools, law enforcement, foster care agencies
· Outreach to local community for course participants, as well as recruit and engage community partners
· Market program through press releases, social media and informational sessions
· Track each participant certified through follow up evaluations
· Submit these evaluations as directed to MHFA-USA nationally and NWCTAHEC
· Enroll in the Mental Health First Aid USA Listserve
· List courses on the National Public “Mental Health First Aid In Your Community” Map: Advertise courses and let the public know you are authorized to provide the program.
· Establish and foster relationships with community mental health agencies as partners and resources
· Serve as a resource to YMHFA course participants on an ongoing basis
· Respect the privacy of course participants, colleagues and others, including the responsibility to protect personal information
· Advocate for Mental Health First Aid by promoting the principles whenever possible
· Grant writing to support YMHFA activities
· Participate in AmeriCorps large service project
· Participate in monthly calls held nationally by NWCTAHEC
· Submit biweekly reflection entries on Google Groups page
· Assist AHEC centers with ongoing community initiatives and regional events
Experience Preferred:
· Personal and/ or professional knowledge of mental health topics
· Strong teaching and/ or training skills and experience, especially with adult learners
· Understanding of mental health issues and resources
· Skills and experience facilitating diverse groups and creating/maintaining a positive, effective learning environment

Job Description:
The DABC Volunteer Coordinator Intern will be responsible for working with and providing support for the DABC’s Tax Site Operations Manager and Executive Director. However, the position will not be required to help with program and service delivery. Primary job duties will include helping the organization best market itself to potential volunteers, represent DABC at volunteer expos, and scheduling and managing DABC volunteers. Other job duties include:
• Respond to requests for volunteer information including phone, mail and internet inquiries.
• Maintain volunteer database, including event and volunteer scheduling and reporting.

    Job Description:

    To set up all meetings, meal functions and audiovisual equipment in accordance with hotel and company policies. To facilitate all customer request in a timely and courteous manner.

    Job Requirements:

    1.Ensures all water, amenities, audio visual and breaks are in room at least 15 minutes prior to start of meeting.
    2.Complies with all customer needs for additional charge to the guest. Notifies supervisor to add to guest check.
    3.Displays good customer relation skills when dealing with customers.
    4.Sets up and cleans all meeting and meal function rooms in accordance with company and hotel specifications.
    5.Freshens all meeting rooms during meal breaks by replacing ashtrays, changing cloths if necessary, refilling candy jars, replacing water glasses, refilling water pitchers, and removing garbage from meeting areas and break tables.
    6.Assists with meal service and breakdown as needed.
    7.Assists in getting banquet guest checks signed and turned in to the front office for proper posting.
    8.Ensures the proper handling or all equipment and supplies.
    9.All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

    Skills and Abilities:

    Carry out specific oral and written instructions, frequently following a simple routine.

    Do the same task over and over frequently in the same way.

    Get along with all kinds of people.

    Stand and walk for long periods of time.

    Lift and carry things like luggage, trays of dishes, and bags or golf clubs.
