The AmeriCorps Leadership and Conservation Program (ACLC) is
a demanding, team-based, leadership experience providing diverse service
opportunities in community outreach and environmental stewardship. ACLC
Corpsmembers actively participate in and facilitate weekly educational sessions
and team building activities, plan and lead service projects, and build
leadership skills.
Members will:
*Build strong leadership skills.
*Impact hundreds of acres of community space each year through
projects including trail building and maintenance, fire and flood mitigation
and restoration, habitat restoration, tree planting, and/or the removal of
invasive plant species.
*Install water and energy saving products in the homes of
low-income residents and community organizations.
*Earn certifications for S212 chainsaw equivalency
certificate, first aid/CPR, and/or pesticide applicator certificate.
*Gain support as they explore their future goals and strive
towards their next steps.
Timeline/Benefits:
*January 25, 2016 - December 9, 2016; 40 hours/week
*$720 bi-weekly stipend and an AmeriCorps Education Award of
$5,730 at the completion of the program.
