These great tips are brought you by the lovely Ms. Kathlyne Trevino, Goodwill facilitator at Northridge and Greeley High Schools! Thanks Kat!!
How are you all doing with your Daniels Fund Scholarship Applications? Some tips for success!
- It is important to submit your applications a day before the deadline.
- Look at your applications with special care and attention to the profile assessment embedded within their household, community and extracurricular activities.
- One question asks, "I often lie." Students are to rank their answer. Most students have a tendency to answer "moderately disagree" with the thinking that they have lied at least once. This question is really asking, "Do you lie?" If students agree, what picture will Daniels have of you?
- Another caution, please look at your hours under your Contact Information. Consider this, if your spends more time watching television and socializing than you do working, in the community or studying; what picture will Daniels have of you?
- Copy and paste your essay answers into a Word or Google doc so that you may save it. These essays come in very handy for other scholarships.
- Daniels will ask all semifinalist what other scholarships they have applied for in addition to Daniels. Three is the minimum number they like to see.
Good luck everyone! Remember, applications are due on November 13th (THIS FRIDAY!) so try extra hard to get your application in tomorrow or Thursday! If you need help, see the Goodwill facilitator at your school!
