Looking to volunteer to HELP connect people to
resources, while making our communities and planet more healthy?!?!
Groundwork Denver is organizing our
7th annual MLK Day Neighborhood Energy Action event. This year’s
event will take place on Monday, January 16th in the Clayton
and Cole neighborhoods of Denver.
If you’ve participated in this
event in the past then you know the kind of positive impact this project can
have on a neighborhood as a whole and on individual residents. If you
haven't participated in a Neighborhood Energy Action yet, you'll be pleasantly
surprised at how much of an impact you can make in a few volunteer hours. We'll
provide you with all the training and materials you need for the event.
Here’s what you'll be doing: In
teams of two you will be given a walking route in the neighborhood with
approximately 40 doors to knock on. At each home, you'll offer to change out
the front porch light bulb to an LED bulb, provide information about reducing
energy use, and sign people up for free recycling, free energy audits and free
trees. It's simple and makes a huge difference for people and the planet.
We are looking for as many
volunteers as possible for this event in the form of individuals and groups!
