America SCORES is the nation’s only after-school
program that empowers students in urban communities using soccer,
writing, creative expression, and service-learning. With teamwork as
the unifying value, America SCORES inspires youth to lead healthy lifestyles,
be engaged students, and become agents of change in their communities. We
are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated candidate who is looking for a
way to make a lasting impact during a year of service by helping us increase
the size of our program in Denver through a wide range of organizational growth
and development activities.
Coach Across America members gain incredible work experience, acquire new skills, learn to meet complex challenges head-on, and develop leadership qualities. More importantly, during your year of service, you will make a real difference for the people in your community. At America SCORES Denver, you will make a direct impact on our poet-athletes. Additionally, CAA members who complete a year of service receive an Education Award [$2,775] on-the-job training, a modest living allowance [$7,200 for the half-time position], and student-loan forbearance.

America Half-Time Position and Responsibilities

Program Assistant-
· Assist the Executive Director with strategic planning
, grant writing, and development of expansion programs such as summer and
winter camps and middle school
· Conduct research regarding positive youth development
through sports, creative arts, and service-learning to provide data to support
the SCORES service model
· Strengthen and support internal systems for collecting
and reporting on evaluation data and program outcomes
· Strengthen and support infrastructure by improving
internal systems and developing and revising policies, procedures, and training
activities
· Research and build relationships with local programs
that offer a continuance of youth-development activities for graduating SCORES
students
· Develop and implement strategies to engage SCORES
alumni in current SCORES programming

Assistant Event Planner –
· Assist America SCORES Denver Event Committees when
needed
· Events include, but are not limited to: Fall Frenzy,
Poetry Slam, Spring Jamboree, Summer Clinics and the Spring Inspired Art
Auction

Volunteer Recruiter –
- Develop a strategy for the recruitment, selection, screening, and retention of volunteers from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Conduct volunteer orientations and trainings
- Organize volunteer recognition activities and events
