SUMMER TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
Looking for a fun way to spend your summer?
Are you looking for
a fun and rewarding way to spend your summer? Are you interested in
adding experience to your resume and college applications? If so, you
might be a good match for our "mostly" summer volunteer
positions. We are looking for teens that are friendly, energetic and
great with kids to help with our Children's Programs, summer camps and weekend
workshops, and our children's exhibit, The Discovery Zone. The majority
of the time commitment takes place during the summer, but we do ask for a
very small and manageable time commitment during the school year as well.

Who We're Looking
For...
If you love the
Museum, love working with kids, are interested in science and want the
opportunity to explore career interests like becoming a teacher and/or
working in museum setting, then this might be the perfect
volunteer position for you! Our program is looking for teen volunteers
who are friendly, enthusiastic, and great with kids.
Children's Programs
(Summer Camp & Weekend Workshops)
Between June and
August, we offer a variety of summer daylong camps for grades K & 1,
2 & 3, and 4-6 and half-day camps for ages 4 & 5. Each week,
campers will take amazing journeys throughout the Museum and outside into
City Park. Kids get to experiment, create, build, ask questions, and
learn - but most of all have fun!
Children's Programs
Volunteers have busy days full of helping kids play games, make crafts,
see IMAX® and planetarium shows, and explore the Museum's exhibits. They
help classroom teachers supervise kids, prepare classroom activities, and
chaperone field trips to the Denver Zoo, City Park, and other area
attractions. Teen Volunteers are an essential part of a team that makes
our fun and educational programs possible!
During the school year our Children's Programs Team host
weekend's workshops for kids. These are very similar to summer camps
except they are mini-one day versions that take place on a Saturday or
Sunday. These weekend volunteer shifts range from 4 to 6 hours
long.
Discovery Zone
Exhibit Information
The Discovery Zone is a
hands-on exhibit area designed for kids ages 0-8 including both school
groups and young children with families. If you are creative, enjoy
science, and love working with kids, then this is the place for you!
Discovery Zone volunteers help our little guests learn through play, by
making nature inspired art, digging for dinosaur fossils, experiencing
physics through balls and ramps, and much more!
