As a
Student Trainee, you will work in the Division of Financial Management and
perform the following duties:
-Perform routine analysis reconciliations of accounts for accuracy and completeness of information.
-Prepare periodic financial reports.
-Prepare batches for processing by accounting technicians, including sorting and preparing documents for entry and filing.
-Audit transactions and records and test internal controls.
-Perform analysis of financial transactions.
-Perform queries of financial systems for research and to develop statistics.
-Perform reconciliations of subsidiary records on the standard general ledger; and
-Assist in the distribution of financial operations reports.

Eligibility
Requirements: In
order to be eligible for this position, you must meet the BASIC EDUCATION and
Program Eligibility Requirements stated below:
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
GS-04 level: Completion of at least two full academic years of post-school study or an associates degree in accounting, auditing, or related field such as: business administration, finance and/or public administration.
GS-05 level: Completion of four academic years of post-high school leading to a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in accounting, auditing, or in a related field such as: business administration, finance, and/or public administration that include 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 semester hours may include up to 6 hours or credit in business lasw (ther term accounting means accounting and/or auditing).
Program Eligibility Requirements:
1. Must be at least 16 years old (by the closing date of this vacancy announcement);
2. Must be enrolled in an accredited high school, college or university on at least a half-time basis as defined by the school;
3. Must be pursuing a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying education institution.
4. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
