The 23rd Annual La Raza Youth Leadership Conference is scheduled for Saturday April 18,
2015 at the Auraria Campus in Denver, CO.
The mission of the Conference is to empower
Latino youth (grades 6 – 12) to achieve their educational and leadership
potential and instill a desire to give back to the community. The goals La Raza
Youth Leadership Conference are to:
- Promote the importance of education; especially
post-secondary education/training
- Explore career opportunities
- Increase self-esteem, self-confidence and
leadership skills
- Foster positive relationships between and
amongst the diverse populations that make up the Latino community
- Develop a sense of community, reaffirming
cultural identity and pride
- Examine male and female responsibility issues
The La Raza Youth Leadership
Conference exposes Colorado's Latino youth to the endless opportunities in
their future by promoting cultural awareness, self-awareness career awareness
and leadership. The conference is composed of three workshops, and education
fair, a keynote address, and lunchtime entertainment. This conference is unique
in that it caters to Colorado’s Latino youth (grades 6 – 12). The largest conference of its kind in
Colorado it averages over 1200 students per year.
