Upcoming Orientations (application is not required to attend)
All candidates MUST attend an Orientation to be
considered for the YouthBuild program. Individual interviews will be
scheduled at the Orientation to determine program eligibility.

Want to learn more?
We will be holding information sessions every Tuesday
at 1p.m. at our headquarters 1801 Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80204.
Applicants will be provided with an overview of the program and have the
chance to ask questions. These sessions are optional, but are a great
opportunity for interested applicants to learn more.

What makes a strong YouthBuild candidate:
|
- Desire to earn a GED or H.S. diploma and between
the ages of 18-24
- Self-motivated for personal change
- Ready to commit full-time participation,
7:30a.m.-3:30p.m. daily
- Desire to achieve long-term goals beyond GED or a
paycheck
- Willing to try new things and take healthy risks
- Able to work well with others
- Able to do physically challenging work in all
weather
- Has sufficient supports, resources or a 2nd job to
survive on the stipend amount

The YouthBuild program
at MHYC offers young people the opportunity to work in the green
construction industry while finishing out their GED or high school diploma.
Spending half of their time in the classroom and half of their time on the
jobsite building affordable housing with Denver Housing
Authority. Corpsmembers gain life, work, educational and leadership
skills during this 6-month program. In addition to a rigorous academic
curriculum and industry-recognized construction training towards
certification, Corpsmembers are provided with extensive career readiness
training, post-secondary preparation and direct links to placement in
long-term employment or post-secondary education upon program
completion. Corpsmembers earn a stipend (paid bi-weekly) and an AmeriCorps Education Award upon
successful completion of their term. This is a highly competitive
program so interested applicants should apply soon! To be eligible,
candidates must
be between 18-24 years of age and must not currently have a GED or high
school diploma and have a desire to make changes in

YouthBuild program receives 61% ($1,057,652) of its funding from the
Department of Labor.
