Special Projects Internship: Metro Volunteers


Purpose of Position: To assist with programs and projects that make volunteerism smarter, more rewarding and impactful. The Special Projects Internship is designed to give an intern an opportunity to gain understanding in event management, volunteer management, corporate relations and fundraising. The Special Projects intern will work on the following projects, and other items as assigned.
· Employee Volunteer Program, training and days of service
o Hands On Network Fee for Service contracts. Work directly with Special Projects Director to scope, execute and report.
o Assist with MLK Day 2014 planning and execution- scoping, executing and reporting project successes.
· Volunteers with Impact and Purpose (skilled, boomer, job seekers)
o Plan and execute events surrounding the VIP program including training events, matching events and happy hours.
· Family Volunteer Day
o Plan and execute a Volunteer Fair for agencies with volunteer opportunities for kids
o Scope projects to do on-site.
o Create partnerships with corporations and nonprofits for event success.
o Assist with marketing efforts for the event.
· Volunteer Fest
o Plan and execute a large scale Volunteer Fair for agencies with volunteer opportunities for kids
o Scope projects to do on-site.
o Create partnerships with corporations and nonprofits for event success.
o Assist with marketing efforts for the event.
· Heart of Volunteerism
o Plan and execute a large scale fundraising event, honoring two community members for their service in the Denver area.
o Work in conjunction with the Special Projects Director to manage event logistics and plan event.
