A special song can unlock memories!
Volunteer Opportunity: Share Music with Senior Residents
Develop meaningful relationships with seniors and help renew their joy in life through music.
Student Learning Opportunity:
Help senior residents identify favorite music and set up iTune playlists.
Build positive relationship with the same senior each week to learn their music choices and
stories behind their favorite music.
Teach senior residents how to operate music device.
Learn best practices to support seniors with an uplifting experience.
Use tech skills to download music from iTunes, but it’s more important to be interested in
forming positive relationships with seniors than being tech savvy.
Commit to attending each session for 6 weeks.
Celebrate with free food and drinks to commemorate our accomplishments at the final
session!
Goal:
To build bridges across age through offering personalized music to improve the quality of life
for seniors.
Info:
Spring: 6 week session, 1 hour per week – Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:15 pm (tentatively)
