Bureau of Land Management Diversity Internship Program: History
Since its inception in 2011, the BLM internship program has
resulted in:
• 107 interns
serving at BLM Field Offices, the CO State Office, and the NOC
• 37% of the
interns qualify as diversity hires
• Over 56,000
hours of service performed, and
• $1.9 million
in BLM funds obligated to date
These valuable internships are in partnership with the Bureau of
Land Management Colorado State Office, BLM Field Offices and the BLM National
Operations Center (NOC) here in Colorado. Internships focus on a diverse range
of duties including information technology, firefighting, public information
officers, hydrology, GIS mapping and others.
Denver-Based GIS Intern
BLM Colorado State Office - Lakewood, CO
Intern will provide operational support to various GIS projects;
generate/maintain digital, geo-referenced spatial data (geospatial data) and
evaluate it for spatial accuracy and source data consistency; generate, modify,
and/or evaluate metadata for geospatial data; assist Field Offices in GIS
database construction and maintenance; and work with a diverse group of
resource specialists, planners, and managers.

Denver-Based Master Title Plat Intern (AutoCAD)
BLM Colorado State Office - Lakewood, CO
In coordination with the State Office Land Records section, the
intern responsibilities will include updating Master Title Plats (MTPs) using
AutoCAD Civil 3D, updating the BLM GIS land ownership layer when Plats are
updated, checking MTPs geo-referencing in ArcMap after updating and scanning
Mylar Plats as needed.
