Unpaid Marketing Intern

Denver Human Services (DHS) is currently seeking an UNPAID MARKETING INTERN for the GIVE Denver program.  The GIVE Denver program is part of DHS Administration that leverages volunteers, donations and community partnerships to bring hope to foster children, the homeless, and other underserved communities that receive assistance through DHS.  The GIVE Denver marketing intern will be responsible for supporting marketing and fundraising operations of the GIVE Denver program, including:
  • Writing, editing and distributing weekly e-newsletters to engage community partners;
  • Writing and managing distribution of e-mail and direct mail fundraising solicitations;
  • Supporting logistical coordination for community engagement events; and
  • Providing support for other operations of the GIVE Denver program upon request.
This position is for individuals interested in learning how to apply membership/volunteer communication techniques and small-dollar fund-raising strategies to support the operations of public agencies or non-profit entities.

 Qualifications:
Desired qualifications:
  • Superior writing, editing and organization skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web-based content-management systems (Wordpress or other blog-management platforms qualifies);
  • Familiarity with communications functions of trade associations, labor unions, non-profit organizations or similar member-oriented organizations highly encouraged;
  • Student or graduate of an accredited college or university; and
  • Available 16-20 hours per week in Denver.
