Public Policy Internship: Colorado Nonprofit Association

Summary The Public Policy internship offers a unique opportunity to work on policy issues affecting nonprofit organizations across the state. This role supports the Colorado Nonprofit Association policy team with research, communications, event coordination, and development of informational materials related to public policy matters.
Skill Development and Experience
  • A successful intern can expect to develop the following skills and have the following experiences:
  • Extensive knowledge of an array of issues affecting the nonprofit sector.
  • Knowledge of Colorado’s legislative process and key policy issues.
  • Honed research and information management capabilities.
  • Communications with various nonprofit professionals throughout the state.
  • Enhanced client relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting research on issues relevant to Colorado nonprofits to support the policy team.
  • Assisting with actions related to the Association’s positions on legislation and regulations.
  • Assisting with developing educational programs, information resources, and communications.
  • Providing additional support to Association staff and programs as needed.
