A Prep Specialist's primary responsibility is to uphold the highest standards for fresh product and maintain all prep expectations and specifications. As the main person handling the majority of product, the Prep Specialist is the front line for inspecting and checking for product quality. This person must be able to prioritize quality while helping keep product waste at a minimum. The Prep Specialist must be able to follow all recipes, adhere to specific cut sizes and comply with all food safety procedures and regulations.
Skill Sets
Know the standards for all MG food items and product
Able to and willingness to prioritize product quality over food waste and cost management
Able to work safely, quickly, and efficiently while prioritizing prep items for the day
Understand how to read and use prep lists
Related Tasks (not limited to the following)
Uphold the highest quality standards
Follow MG prep procedures and standards
Follow food/knife safety procedures; following safe temperature procedures
Follow prep guidelines for amounts listed on prep sheet
Keep an organized prep station and completing prep in a timely manner
Prioritize fresh product over cost savings; know what fresh product is
Use of waste bowl during prep session, waste log and temp log
Communication to Manager on Duty regarding any quality issues or prep shortages
Complete prep lists as needed
This job will be day time hours and mostly Monday through Friday, with possible exceptions as store needs arise.
