Position Concept
The Mile High United Way Marketing and Communications team is seeking a Fall intern who will be responsible for assisting various individuals in the marketing department with the development of graphic communications. Duties will include conceptual and design development for a variety of Mile High United Way programs, initiatives and events including Impact and donor relations.
Primary Responsibilities
· Work with event planner, graphic designer, e-marketing coordinator, and VP of marketing on various design projects. Some projects will be concepts developed from scratch, some will be applying a concept/look and feel to other communications mediums.
· Design intern will serve as an assistant and learn from Mile High United Way’s in-house designer and provide assistance as needed.
· Design work will include but not limited to flyers, brochures, fact sheet, online design, banners, etc.
The ideal candidate will have experience or academic background in graphic design and marketing; Graphic Design experience with InDesign knowledge preferred; knowledge of social issues related to the work of Mile High United Way. Additionally the intern will have strong verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative and be willing to express ideas. He or she should excel in a fast paced environment and be flexible moving from one project to the next.
All interns must currently be in school or affiliated with an approved institute of higher learning. this position is unpaid, but available as academic/educational credit. The internship runs from early Sept. to Dec. 2013.
